This is a very complex project, especially for a start-up company. Our current timeline shows construction beginning to become noticable within the first couple months of 2016. Depending on several factors, the biggest being weather, we hope to be open by mid-2016. We will keep this page up to date with the latest information as it becomes available from our contractor team.
+ Brewery Odors
Yes, there will be an odor at the brewery when we mash in. It smells like grains cooking (it is grains cooking). So yes, there will be an odor from the brewery regardless of the terrain and natural weather patterns near our brewery site. Due to the subjective nature of sense of smell as well as weather patterns, we are unable to estimate the intensity of the smell.
+ Truck Traffic
- During Construction:
Each phase of construction has different impacts and transportation needs. We will work with our contractor and subcontractors to use alternate routes when possible during the construction process. Sometimes it’s possible to divert construction traffic and sometimes it is not possible.
- After the Brewery is open:
Trucks going to and from the site after we open will be transporting raw materials and packaged beer. We expect deliveries from food vendors weekly, brewery vendors bi-weekly or monthly. We will work with neighborhood leaders, City staff and trucking logistics experts to find a way to ensure minimal impact during peak rush hour periors.
+ Project Team
We will update this section as we finalize bids for our brewpub site.

+ Local Beer On Tap
We want to help spread the word about the other great breweries in Bloomington. The craft brewing commnunity as a whole is very collaborative and friendly. With that said, our brewpub will dedicate one tap from each local Bloomington brewery.
+ Co-Work Space
We created Switchyard in a two car garage in Northern Monroe County. Embracing this entrepreneurial spirit, we felt very strongly about opening our brewpub early to other entrepreneurs and start-up groups who may not have the resources (or a garage) to work on their projects. Groups may reserve our special event boardroom space, and enjoy our fiber optic, ultra fast wireless internet while enjoying a cup of joe, or a pint. See brewpub hours above for more.
