Dogs at Switchyard

We love dogs! In fact many of our staff have a dog, or several. Without a doubt, there is a uniqueness in enjoying a fresh craft beer with your best furry friend snuggled up at your feet.

This is why we are excited to announce that dogs will be allowed inside the tap room, all the time.

This is because we frequently host live music at Switchyard. Dogs + live music + a crowded environment full of new smells isn't the ideal environment for our four legged friends.

We understand not everyone wants their taproom visit to feel like a dog park. Please know we have every intention of keeping this respectful and enjoyable for all guests — we feel our space is large and airy enough to accommodate everyone.

  • All well-behaved, house-trained dogs are allowed.
  • All dogs must be on a leash for the entirety of their stay.
  • All dogs must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Owners with dogs that are overly noisy or otherwise causing a disturbance might be asked to leave.
  • We kindly ask that your dog not use our new taproom as a toilet. Repeat offenders will be asked to leave. Cleanup & sanitization supplies will be provided. You must clean up after your own dog.
  • No dogs are allowed in the brewhouse.
  • Switchyard staff reserves the right to ask pet owners to remove their pet at any time.

Legal Talk:

Our tap room and production facility are certified by the Monroe County Health Department and are subject to routine inspection.

We do not have a kitchen at Switchyard. Because we are a pet-friendly establishment, we cannot legally prepare food. All food products that we sell are made off-site and sold pre-packaged.

Our friends at The Big Cheeze will be outside the taproom 7 days a week from 11a - 11p. You are also welcome to bring in your own food or work with one of our catering partners if you would like to host a private event with us.

You are also welcome to bring or order in your own food. We'll provide the beer.

But wait, don't you HAVE to provide food?

To serve wine and guest beer under Indiana Code 7.1, we are required to provide, at a minimum, warm soup, warm sandwiches, milk, coffee, water and soda for a minimum of 25 persons. To serve our own beer, produced on site, a food truck sitting outside or delivery menus are perfectly adequate.

We have these items available daily, from open to close on our "Legally Required Menu"

Legally Required by the Great State of Indiana:

Hot Sandwich | $15

Bartenders choice of what we have in the back freezer: Hot pocket, cheeseburger, or an assortment of XXL Burritos. We put it in the microwave, press a button, and deliver it, still in its original container, hot and steamy.

Hot Soup | $15

It's hot, it's soup, enjoy with a Big Cheeze Grilled Cheeze! Chicken Noodle or Tomato, your call

Rehydrated Powdered Milk | $5

We combine water and milk to make a beverage that is molecularly similar to milk that comes from a cow. Tasty.
