We believe that business can, and should be a catalyst for positive change in our community. We pride ourselves on the beers that we make and the impact we have on the communities we’re a part of, it's part of our culture!

From the start of our entrepreneurial journey, the continuous, overwhelming support we've received has been unreal. We view our philanthropic efforts as our chance to give back to our community and reciprocate the love that you've shown us!

If you are interested in receiving a donation, participating in Positive Pints, or our Wooden Nickel program, please review the criteria below and fill out the applicable form, which will be reviewed by our donation committee.

Positive Pints

The first Sunday of each month we focus on a different local non-profit, and the great work they do in our community, by hosting them in the taproom. We give a portion of our sales that day while they set up all sorts of displays, silent auctions, and other events to raise awareness and money for their organization.

Want your organization on our calendar? Check out the criteria and fill out the form below.

Wooden Nickel

Our community is stronger when we work together. We take lots of opportunities to give back to our community who spend so much time and energy on doing the same. With our Wooden Nickel program, each flight of beer (where you get to taste several beers from our tap list) comes with a little Wooden Nickel.

From there, you get to choose whether or not you'd like to donate a dollar to our monthly cause or get a dollar off of some Switchyard merchandise.

Every month is different so you can always find a cause that fits your fancy. Our recipients are super grateful that you get to participate and we are, too!

Enjoy a flight and give back!

Run Club

Our Run Club meets every Monday at 6:00 PM at our downtown taproom. The Run Club is free to join!

Choose a 1.5, 3 or 5-mile family-friendly course to run or walk and earn points towards run club milestone rewards!

We formed our run club as part of our brewery’s dedication to our community. Our sixth Guiding Principle of how we run Switchyard states, “Be an active part of our community.” We believe that business can, and should be a catalyst for positive change within our community. We believe that a business has an obligation to give back to the community of which it is a part. Our run club is an extension of exactly that.

Our routes can be found on our Run Club Facebook page, on our RunGo Group or you can pick up a printout of our turn by turn directions for simple navigation at check-in.

As always, be courteous to our neighbors while running by making sure to look both ways before darting into traffic, running off to the side and letting cars pass, and be sure to give our neighbors a wave as you run by! 👋🏼

We all run the first mile together.

Be sure to arrive at the brewery a little early each run to sign in. We will track your runs for you, and for each run milestone you hit (25, 50, 75, 100) you’ll receive a cool gift!

A very special thank you to the Bloomington Area Runners Association for their enthusiasm and for testing & facilitating the routes!

Firefighters died by suicide
(2017)

More firefighters died of suicide in 2017 than in the line of duty. We founded the Switchyard Public Safety Foundation with one simple mission:

PROVIDING SUPPORT AND RESOURCES TO IMPACT THE LIVES AND LIFE-SAVING CAPABILITIES OF EMERGENCY RESPONDERS

According to the National Fire Protection Association, 69 percent of firefighters in the United States are volunteers. These responders do not have access to basic mental health resources such as incident debriefing, Licensed Mental Health counselors, or emergency employee assistance programs. In fact, most career emergency services agencies do not have these resources readily available.

We truly understand the day-to-day challenges our responders face. The scenes you've witnessed, the pressure of being in the public spotlight, the stress the job can bring home. You go in thirty minutes early to your shift to relieve the shift before you, you stay over late and work overtime to ensure our community is safe. You sacrifice family time, holidays, and special events to protect and take care of people you don't even know.

Launching in Monroe County in late 2018, the Switchyard Public Safety Foundation will be staffed by licensed counselors and trained volunteers who will respond directly to stations after a critical incident occurs. In addition, our 24/7 crisis hotline will be available to ensure all of our local responders have access to someone in their time of need.

Until our hotline goes live, if you, or a loved one needs assistance, call the National Fire/EMS Helpline at 1-888-731-FIRE
